At first, you can see the quality of Prodrive from the external appearance. Let's take the shock absorber for instance. Concerning the case, you will see that materials are carefully selected to retain high rigidity and that the form made by machining enhances rigidity. And needless to say, the bracket has enough thickness, and you will find out that the jointing is carefully crafted.
Naturally, you will find the Prodrive spirit also in the spring combined to the shock. By adopting 230kg/mm2 steel as the material, the diameter of the wire is made high-rate but small. This contributes to weight saving, and it can be rightly said that it is a basic and essential element in sports suspensions.
And the driving quality, the most important element, has achieved truly excellent feeling. It is exactly a confident product. And because it is finished through tests conducted repeatedly with installation to each actual vehicle, it brings out the character of each car maximally. You can drive, not only safely by holding on fast, but also comfortably by moving flexibly. This has been achieved by adjusting the balance between expanding and contracting exquisitely. So, it is easy to say, but difficult to determine the setting. This is a superb product, in which you can find out the craftsmanship of the Prodrive development team.
The case is made by machining and has enough thickness. The part sustaining the seat has enough capacity, retaining accuracy and rigidity at a high level.
The seat is significantly thick because it sustains the spring. And the threaded portion is treated with Teflon coating(*) etc. to prevent adhesion.

Also in the welding, you can see the craftsmanship. It gives strength to the bracket subjected to force. And the uniform beads are beautiful.
The bracket, sustaining all the force when driving, is important part. Selecting the material carefully, it retains enough and unexemplified thickness.
The pillow itself is made by NMB. If you touch it actually, you will see its extremely high accuracy.
Not only to pursue the solid feeling of driving, but also to add fine flexibility, adjustable rubber mount is also available.
The rubber rigid upper mount, by selecting optimum shape and hardness, spells out waste motions and enhances stability of driving.
Twin-tube type equipped with separate tank is designed mainly for comfortability. And mono-tube type, having a high level of cooling efficiency, is designed for driving performance. Which to choose is determined according to the character of target car.
Damping force is adjustable in 16 or 30, etc. levels, according to product type. You can choose optimum damping force, and the range of setting is wide.
Because high hardness steel is adopted, the number of coils can be reduced. This contributes not only to weight saving, but also to retaining the stroke because of space between coils.
For some models, helper spring is adopted. It contributes to retaining the re-bump stroke as well as to eliminating looseness.
